Get an overview of EMA's regulations and market registration schemes that apply to your solar PV. General information for installing solar PV There are 3 broad steps to take when installing solar PV: 1. Physically installing the solar PV system 2. Commissioning and turning on the solar PV system 3. Selling back excess solar generated electricity, if applicable 1. Physically installing the solar PV system Consumers installing a solar PV system should engage a Qualified Person (QP) to ensure appropriate physical installation and compliance with regulations. A Qualified Person is a person who is registered as an Architect with the Board of Architects (BOA) or a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) and has a valid practising certificate issued by the BOA or PEB, respectively. Depending on the individual consumers requirements, the QP may need to seek approval from the authorities, e. g. BCA (structural safety) URA, planning permission) SCDF (fire safety) CAAS (aviation zone) for the solar PV installation. 2. Commissioning and turning on the solar PV system After the solar PV system has been installed, the consumer should engage a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) to commission and turn on the solar PV system, including applying for the relevant electrical licences and assessing the electrical connection requirements. The consumer may also need to apply for a generation licence and market registration, if the solar PV system is 1MWac and above. 3. Selling back excess solar generated electricity, if applicable If the consumer wishes to sell any excess solar electricity to the grid, he may either a. Register with SP Services (SPS) under the Simplified Credit Treatment (SCT) or Enhanced Central Intermediary Scheme (ECIS) by requesting the LEW to submit the relevant applications to SPS [Recommended] or b. Directly register with the Energy Market Company as a Market Participant, or c. Appoint another Market Participant (not applicable to residential consumers. For more information, please refer to the subsequent sections below on the various payment schemes and selling back excess solar generated electricity. Overview of payment schemes for solar consumers PDF download (with hyperlinks. Refer to the table below for more details about the schemes. What are the payment schemes available for consumers generating solar energy? Types of Payment Scheme Details Simplified Credit Treatment Scheme (SCT) EMA has simplified the market registration process for Non-Contestable Consumers (NCC) to directly register with SP Services (SPS. Under the SCT, NCCs that sell any excess energy to the market will be paid at the prevailing tariff minus grid charges. More information on SCT can be found here Enhanced Central Intermediary Scheme (ECIS) EMA has introduced the ECIS where Contestable Consumers (CCs) can register with SP Services (SPS) directly, thus reducing regulatory barriers and administrative matters. Under the ECIS, CCs that sell any excess energy to the market will be paid at the prevailing half-hourly wholesale energy prices More information on ECIS can be found here Register as a Market Participant (Non-Exporting) EMA has introduced a new class of Market Participant (Intermittency Generation Sources Non-Exporting) category. Under this category, consumers will undergo a streamlined market registration process where they are not required to provide credit support or to submit generation meter readings to Energy Market Company (EMC. Consumers will not be paid for injecting any excess energy to the grid. Consumers are required to pay EMC an estimated fixed charge on the IGS capacity only every six months. This will be based on a standardised IGS Generation Profile for all consumers. More information can be found here Register as a Market Participant Consumers with solar installations will need to register as a Market Participant with Energy Market Company, subject to the relevant Market Rules. Any excess energy solar sold back to the market will be paid at the respective nodal price. *Contestable Consumers (CCs) are those that can choose to buy electricity from a retailer of their choice or directly from the wholesale electricity market. How to sell your excess solar generated electricity? Option 1: Register with SP Services (SPS) under Simplified Credit Treatment (SCT) Non-contestable consumers with embedded solar capacity < 1 MWac will need to register with SPS under the SCT to sell their excess solar generated electricity. Consumers will receive rebates via their monthly electricity bill. The Ne t Export Rebate application form can be downloaded from SPS website here and submitted via SPS e-Business portal directly or by the consumer's appointed Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) on the consumer's behalf. Alternatively, the hardcopy application form can be submitted via mail to the following address: SP Group, 2 Kallang Sector, Singapore 349277. If you wish to receive payments for your excess solar electricity via GIRO, download the form and submit it together with the Net Export Rebate application form. For further enquiries, please email. Option 2: Register with SPS under Enhanced Central Intermediary Scheme (ECIS) Contestable consumers with embedded solar capacity < 10 MWac can register with SPS under the ECIS to sell their excess solar generated electricity. The Net to the following address: SP Group, 2 Kallang Sector, Singapore 349277. If you wish to receive payments for your excess solar electricity via GIRO, download the form and submit it together with the Net Export Rebate application form. For further enquiries, please email. Option 3: Register with Energy Market Company (EMC) as a Market Participant (MP) Non-contestable consumers and contestable consumers with embedded solar capacity ≥ 1 MWac can register directly with the EMC as a MP to sell electricity. EMC will pay the MP for the excess solar generated electricity. You will also need to register as a Generation Facility with EMC. The Market Participant application form can be downloaded from EMC website here. The Generation Facility application form can be downloaded here. The cost to register as a Market Participant can be found in the table below: No. Market Participant Requirements Cost 1 MP registration 5, 000 one-off 2 MP annual fee 10, 000 per year 3 RSA hardware token (from 6th token onwards per MP, applicable once every 3 years) 350 per token 4 PSO registration fee 1, 650 one-off per legal entity registration 5 PSO fee 3, 500 per year Please submit the hardcopy forms via mail to the following address: Energy Market Company, Market Administration, 4 Shenton Way, 03-01 SGX Centre 2, Singapore 068807. An exponential moving average (EMA) is a type of moving average (MA) that places a greater weight and significance on the most recent data points. The exponential moving average is also referred to as the exponentially weighted moving average. An exponentially weighted moving average reacts more significantly to recent price changes than a simple moving average (SMA) which applies an equal weight to all observations in the period. TradingView. Key Takeaways The EMA is a moving average that places a greater weight and significance on the most recent data points. Like all moving averages, this technical indicator is used to produce buy and sell signals based on crossovers and divergences from the historical average. Traders often use several different EMA days, for instance, 20-day, 30-day, 90-day, and 200-day moving averages. The Formula For EMA Is E M A Today. Value Today ∗ ( Smoothing 1 + Days) where: begin{aligned. begin{aligned} EMA_ text{Today. left( text{Value. text{Today} astleft( frac{ text{Smoothing} 1+ text{Days} right) right. EMA_ text{Yesterday} astleft(1- left( frac{ text{Smoothing} 1+ text{Days} right) right) end{aligned. textbf{where. EMA= text{Exponential moving average} end{aligned} E M A Today. Value Today ∗ ( 1 + Days Smoothing. where: The three basic steps to calculating the EMA are: Calculate the SMA. Calculate the multiplier for smoothing/weighting factor for the previous EMA. Calculate the current EMA. Calculating the EMA To calculate an EMA, you must first compute the simple moving average (SMA) over a particular time period. The calculation for the SMA is straightforward: it is simply the sum of the stock's closing prices for the number of time periods in question, divided by that same number of periods. So, for example, a 20-day SMA is just the sum of the closing prices for the past 20 trading days, divided by 20. Next, you must calculate the multiplier for smoothing (weighting) the EMA, which typically follows the formula: 2 (selected time period + 1.  So, for a 20-day moving average, the multiplier would be [2/ 20+1. 0. 0952. Finally, to calculate the current EMA, the following formula is used: Closing price-EMA (previous day) x multiplier + EMA (previous day) The EMA gives a higher weighting to recent prices, while the SMA assigns equal weighting to all values. The weighting given to the most recent price is greater for a shorter-period EMA than for a longer-period EMA. For example, an 18. 18% multiplier is applied to the most recent price data for a 10-period EMA, whereas for a 20-period EMA, only a 9. 52% multiplier weighting is used. There are also slight variations of the EMA arrived at by using the open, high, low or median price instead of using the closing price. Simple Vs. Exponential Moving Averages What Does The Exponential Moving Average Tell You? The 12- and 26-day exponential moving averages (EMAs) are often the most popularly quoted or analyzed short-term averages. The 12- and 26-day are used to create indicators like the moving average convergence divergence (MACD) and the percentage price oscillator (PPO. In general, the 50- and 200-day EMAs are used as signals of long-term trends. When a stock prices crosses its 200-day moving average, it is a technical indicator that a reversal has occurred. Traders who employ technical analysis find moving averages very useful and insightful when applied correctly but create havoc when used improperly or are misinterpreted. All the moving averages commonly used in technical analysis are, by their very nature, lagging indicators. Consequently, the conclusions drawn from applying a moving average to a particular market chart should be to confirm a market move or to indicate its strength. Very often, by the time a moving average indicator line has made a change to reflect a significant move in the market, the optimal point of market entry has already passed. An EMA does serve to alleviate this dilemma to some extent. Because the EMA calculation places more weight on the latest data, it “hugs” the price action a bit more tightly and therefore reacts more quickly. This is desirable when an EMA is used to derive a trading entry signal. Interpreting the EMA Like all moving average indicators, they are much better suited for trending markets. When the market is in a strong and sustained uptrend, the EMA indicator line will also show an uptrend and vice-versa for a down trend. A vigilant trader will not only pay attention to the direction of the EMA line but also the relation of the rate of change from one bar to the next. For example, as the price action of a strong uptrend begins to flatten and reverse, the EMAs rate of change from one bar to the next will begin to diminish until such time that the indicator line flattens and the rate of change is zero. Because of the lagging effect by this point, or even a few bars before, the price action should have already reversed. It follows, therefore, that observing a consistent diminishing in the rate of change of the EMA could itself be used as an indicator that could further counter the dilemma caused by the lagging effect of moving averages. Common Uses of the EMA EMAs are commonly used in conjunction with other indicators to confirm significant market moves and to gauge their validity. For traders who trade intraday and fast-moving markets, the EMA is more applicable. Quite often, traders use EMAs to determine a trading bias. For example, if an EMA on a daily chart shows a strong upward trend, an intraday traders strategy may be to trade only from the long side on an intraday chart. The Difference Between EMA and SMA More specifically, the EMA gives a higher weighting to recent prices, while the SMA assigns equal weighting to all values. The two averages are similar because they are interpreted in the same manner and are both commonly used by technical traders to smooth out price fluctuations. Since EMAs place a higher weighting on recent data than on older data, they are more reactive to the latest  price changes  than SMAs are, which makes the results from EMAs more timely and explains why the EMA is the preferred average among many traders. Limitations Of The EMA It is unclear whether or not more emphasis should be placed on the most recent days in the time period or on more distant data. Many traders believe that new data will better reflect the current trend the security is moving with; meanwhile others feel that privileging certain dates than others will biases the trend. Therefore, the EMA is subject to recency bias. Similarly, the EMA relies wholly on historical data. Many people (including economists) believe that markets are efficient - that is, that current market prices already reflect all available information. If markets are indeed efficient, using historical data should tell us nothing about the future direction of asset prices.

The ema are then left hanging up at the shrine, where the kami receive them. They bear various pictures, often of animals or other Shinto imagery, and many have the word gan'i, meaning "wish" written along the side. In ancient times people would donate horses to the shrines for good favor, over time this was transferred to a wooden plaque with a picture of a horse, and later still to the various wooden plaques sold today for the same purpose. Ema are sold for various wishes. Common reasons for buying a plaque are for success in work or on exams, marital bliss, to have children, and health. Some shrines specialize in certain types of these plaques, and the larger shrines may offer more than one. Sales of ema help support the shrine financially. see more » Know what is EMA?
